Full members are those individuals who, at the time of applying for membership in ACA, are already actively engaged in coaching adults with ADD. To qualify for full membership, individuals must have been coaching adults with ADD for at least one year and they must have at least ten current clients. (Full members are indicated by an * following their names in this directory.).
Associate members, on the other hand, do not have to be practicing coaches or to have specific experience in working with adults with ADD. These individuals may be just starting a coaching practice, they may be tailoring an established coaching practice to focus more directly on adults with ADD, or may have joined our organization and simply be interested in learning more about coaching and/or ADD.
As the experience base, qualifications, and interests of both full and associate members of ACA are so varied, we encourage prospective clients to carefully interview any individual with whom they are considering entering into a coaching relationship. We suggest that you make a list of questions before you call, and be specific about the areas in which you need help most. Some coaches have more interest and experience in particular areas, so be sure you make your needs clear.
Finally, if there is not a coach in your area, remember that coaching
does not always have to take place face-to-face. ADD coaching may
be done by long-distance telephone, fax and through e-mail. Coaches
may charge different fees for different methods or modes of coaching.
However, whether it takes place face-to-face, by telephone, fax or through
e-mail, coaching is a paid professional service.
